On October 3, the Togolese government-led initiative "Togo Propre" (Clean Togo) was observed in several localities of the Savanes region. The campaign aims to promote a healthy environment through public cleanliness operations. In the prefecture of Tône, residents joined their local leaders in cleaning various public spaces, including the regional education department, markets, and the residence of the Korbongou canton chief.

The cleanliness operations were not limited to Tône, as other prefectures in the region also participated. In Cinkassé, residents of the Nadjoundi canton cleaned the local dispensary. The prefect, communal authorities, and defense and security forces were also present to support the efforts. Similarly, in the prefectures of Oti and Oti-Sud, communities came together to clean public spaces, including markets, town halls, and police stations.

In the Oti prefecture, the town of Mango saw significant participation, with residents cleaning the municipal site, as well as the Djabou, Fomboro, Douane, and Sangbana neighborhoods. In Oti 2, residents focused on cleaning the Barkoissi market, town hall, and post office surroundings. The efforts were not limited to urban areas, as rural communities also participated in the initiative.

The Kpendjal prefecture also saw widespread participation, with residents of Mandouri cleaning the local market and maintaining the road connecting the villages of Tambaté and Djambotchile. In Tandjouaré, communities came together to clean the surroundings of the Bomboaka medical-social center. Local authorities praised the mobilization of residents and encouraged them to sustain the effort.

The "Togo Propre" initiative aims to improve living conditions and prevent diseases related to poor sanitation. By engaging local communities, the government hopes to promote a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility. The participation of local leaders, authorities, and residents has been significant, demonstrating a shared commitment to creating a healthier environment.

The cleanliness operations were carried out with simple yet effective tools, including brooms, hoes, rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows. The efforts demonstrate that even with limited resources, communities can come together to make a positive impact on their environment. The government's initiative has also highlighted the importance of community involvement in maintaining public health.

As the "Togo Propre" initiative continues, local authorities have urged residents to maintain their momentum and make cleanliness a regular practice. By doing so, the communities of the Savanes region can enjoy a healthier environment and reduce the risk of diseases related to poor sanitation. The success of the initiative will depend on sustained community participation and government support.
