Chinese diplomat Wang Min highlighted the profound transformations China has undergone since the founding of the People's Republic. She noted that over the past 77 years, China has advanced in its national renewal process under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The Chinese people, united around a common objective, have opened a development path based on Chinese socialism, enabling the construction of a moderately prosperous society and lifting 800 million people out of poverty.
Wang Min also emphasized that China and Togo have maintained relations based on sincerity, friendship, equality, mutual trust, and win-win cooperation for 54 years. She noted that Togo has always observed the one-China principle and supported China's position, while China respects the efforts of the Togolese people in seeking a development path adapted to their national realities.
The diplomat highlighted the diversity of areas in which China and Togo develop their relations, reflecting the depth and consistency of the Sino-Togolese partnership. She cited cooperation in governance, human and cultural exchanges, infrastructure, public welfare projects, industrial cooperation, education, and healthcare, which have yielded abundant results.
Yao Bloua Agbo, President of the China-Togo Friendship Association, stressed that the friendship between the two peoples has been built over the past 54 years around principles of mutual respect, sovereign equality, trust, and cooperation. He noted that this cooperation covers several sectors, including infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, training, commerce, and investments.
Agbo emphasized that the elevation of relations between China and Togo to a comprehensive strategic partnership in September 2024 opens a new stage in bilateral cooperation. He expressed his commitment to contributing to the strengthening of this friendship and cooperation, focusing on value creation, competence transfer, and youth training.
