The Nigerian military has reported that three suspected terrorists were killed in two separate operations conducted in Kaduna and Kano states. According to Captain Tamuno Sinivie, Acting Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, the operations were carried out on October 29 and 30. The troops, part of Operation Fansan Yamma, were engaged in fighting patrols in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State and the Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.

The first operation took place on October 29, when troops of Sector 1 came under attack by armed terrorists while conducting a fighting patrol along the Shadow–Old Kuyello Road in Birnin Gwari. The troops responded with superior firepower, repelled the attack, and pursued the fleeing assailants. The pursuit led to the neutralization of three terrorists and the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, three rounds of ammunition, and one motorcycle.

Captain Sinivie stated that no casualties were recorded among the troops during the encounter. The successful operation demonstrates the military's capability to respond effectively to terrorist threats in the region. The recovered arms and ammunition are significant blows to the terrorist groups operating in the North-West.

In a separate operation on October 30, troops recovered 28 cows and 13 sheep from suspected cattle rustlers in Shanono town, Kano State. The suspected rustlers abandoned the animals and fled upon sighting the advancing troops during a routine patrol. Efforts are ongoing to hand over the recovered livestock to the appropriate authorities.

The Joint Task Force has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations against terrorists and other criminal elements across the North-West. The military continues to engage in various operations aimed at restoring lasting peace and security in the region. The public has been urged to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information to assist ongoing operations.

The recent operations highlight the military's efforts to tackle insecurity in Nigeria's North-West region. The area has been plagued by terrorist attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling in recent years. The Joint Task Force has been working to stabilize the region and prevent further escalation of violence.

The military's operations are part of a broader strategy to enhance security and stability in Nigeria. The public's cooperation and support are crucial in achieving this goal. By working together, the military and the public can help to create a safer and more secure environment for all Nigerians.
