The Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of Rose-Belle arrested three individuals from a family suspected of being involved in drug trafficking in Plaine-Magnien, Mauritius. The arrests were made on September 29 after a discreet surveillance operation. The suspects, Nuzhah Oumerah Ultim-Fuzoolla, Ouzair Hamidoun Rizwan, and Yasheel Ramsing, were found with various quantities of synthetic drugs and impregnated papers.

Nuzhah Oumerah Ultim-Fuzoolla, 27, was arrested with 33 doses of synthetic drugs and is suspected of trafficking 214 papers impregnated with synthetic drugs. She was detained but released on bail of Rs 15,000 after appearing before the Mahébourg court on Friday. Ouzair Hamidoun Rizwan, 19, and Yasheel Ramsing, 31, were also arrested with 16 grams and 54 Pregatas tablets, respectively, which are classified as psychotropic substances under the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The Adsu operation was prompted by complaints from local residents and social workers who suspected the family's involvement in drug trafficking. The suspects' family members, including Jameel Ultim, the father of Nuzhah, was also arrested for obstructing the Adsu's intervention on June 14. The police seized the synthetic drugs and impregnated papers from the family's residence in Bois-d'Oiseaux, Plaine-Magnien.

Following the arrests, Nuzhah Oumerah Ultim-Fuzoolla lodged a complaint for damaging property against a group of armed individuals who vandalized her family's property on October 2. The damages are estimated at Rs 250,000. According to her statement, a group of hostile individuals arrived at her residence, demanding the head of her father, Jameel Ultim.

The armed individuals allegedly used iron bars and wooden pieces to vandalize the property, damaging the main door, a showcase used by Jameel Ultim to sell cakes, and an electric bicycle belonging to her uncle. Nuzhah Oumerah Ultim-Fuzoolla reported hiding in the house and seeking police assistance during the incident.

The police and the Criminal Investigation Division of Plaine-Magnien are investigating the case. The three arrested suspects are part of a family that has been under suspicion for alleged drug trafficking activities. The Adsu's operation aims to curb the suspected trafficking network.

The incidents highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies in Mauritius to combat drug trafficking and related crimes. The authorities continue to investigate and gather evidence to bring those involved to justice. The case is ongoing, with further developments expected.
