Mighty Wanderers Football Club 2021 Limited President and Board Chairperson Thomson Mpinganjira has revealed plans to further modernise the club's facilities. During an inspection of the ongoing renovation works at the club house, Mpinganjira expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far. The renovations include a conference room, gym, lounge, sports shop, restaurant, and secretariat offices.

The renovation works have reached an advanced stage, with the boardroom, washrooms, and gym nearing completion. Mpinganjira stated that the club's next priority is to construct a gazebo for players, providing them with a dedicated space to relax and have meals on matchdays. This move aims to enhance the overall experience for the players.

In addition to the gazebo, Mpinganjira announced plans to create a family area, including a playground for children and women. This initiative is part of the club's efforts to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for its members and supporters. Mpinganjira emphasised the importance of having a modern and well-equipped club house, given the club's rich history.

Mpinganjira also revealed that the club is actively searching for land to build a training ground and other facilities. The club had previously attempted to lease Chilomoni Stadium for this purpose but was unable to secure the necessary approval from the Football Association of Malawi. The club is exploring alternative options to achieve its goals.

Despite facing challenges, including stiff competition from other teams, Mpinganjira expressed confidence in the team's abilities. He urged Wanderers supporters to continue backing the team, assuring them that the club is working tirelessly to improve its performance. Mpinganjira also highlighted the positive impact the club has had on the standard of football in Malawi.

Under Mpinganjira's leadership, Wanderers has contributed to raising the bar for football in the country. The club's efforts have helped to create a more competitive league, with multiple teams now challenging for the top spot. Previously, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets dominated the league, but the landscape has shifted in recent years.

Mpinganjira was accompanied by several key club officials during the inspection, including board secretary Chancy Gondwe and directors Andrex Kalinde, David Kanyenda, Christopher Gondwe, and Madalitso Musa. Acting Chief Executive Officer Welloce Kachingwe was also present. The club's leadership is committed to driving progress and achieving its objectives.
