In a grassroots mobilization effort, 5,000 households in Taraba State were reached on September 19, as part of the campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027. The event was supported by Dr. Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, in collaboration with the Remi Tinubu Support Organisations (RETSO).

Participants at the event expressed their support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket and commended President Tinubu for appointing Dr. Edu as Director of Women Mobilisation, citing her ability to strengthen women's participation in the 2027 election. The Taraba State Executive of RETSO, led by its Women Leader, Hajia Rasheedat Ibrahim, pledged its cooperation with Dr. Edu.

The National Coordinator of RETSO, Hon. Yusi Buba, coordinated door-to-door and community-to-community mobilization efforts. Participants also commended First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for initiatives targeting women, widows, children, and young people, particularly in social protection, empowerment, and human capital development.

The women's wing of RETSO subsequently honored Dr. Betta Edu with an Award of Excellence in recognition of her contribution to women mobilization during the 2023 presidential election and her service as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This award acknowledges Dr. Edu's efforts in mobilizing women for the APC.

Hon. Yusi Buba stated that RETSO would continue working with Dr. Edu and other stakeholders to mobilize support for Tinubu and Shettima at the federal level and Governor Agbu Kefas at the state level ahead of 2027. The delegation also visited the APC secretariat in Jalingo, where it was received by party leaders.

The team later proceeded to rural communities, engaging residents through direct grassroots outreach. Organisers stated that the exercise would continue across wards and communities using a "house-to-house, room-to-room and parlour-to-parlour" approach to communicate the achievements, programmes, and policies of the Tinubu administration, particularly to women.

The mobilization effort aims to ensure that the achievements of the Tinubu administration are well-communicated to women in rural areas. The exercise is part of a larger effort to mobilize support for the APC in Taraba State ahead of the 2027 elections.
