Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has shared a remarkable story from his childhood, revealing that he worked as a security guard while attending primary school. During a sermon at the Supernatural Love Ministries' International Kingdom Conference in Yola, Adamawa State, Kefas recounted his early experiences, emphasizing his drive to earn money and serve those around him. He stated that his selfless mindset was shaped after giving his life to Jesus at the age of 14.
Kefas' journey into selflessness began when he was just a primary school student. He took on a job as a security guard at a local hospital, working every day after school. His responsibilities included standing in for the regular guard during his breaks, often working alone without supervision. In addition to his security work, Kefas also sold newspapers, showcasing his determination to be financially independent from a young age.
As a governor, Kefas views himself as a servant of God, focused on living his purpose and serving humanity. Citing biblical references from Mark 10:45 and Matthew 25:40, he emphasized the importance of practical Christianity, encouraging people to show compassion and render selfless service to others. According to Kefas, God has always provided for him, and he has never experienced lack due to his willingness to work and serve others.
Despite the challenges and criticisms that come with being a governor, Kefas remains committed to his purpose. He revealed that being in office is not as glamorous as it seems, often involving sleepless nights and enduring unfriendly criticism. The governor stated that he has had to bear insults from people, including children who do not know him, and that his decision to become governor was not influenced by external factors.
Kefas described the reality of being a governor, saying it involves sacrifice and a lack of sleep. He mentioned that since assuming office on May 29, 2023, he sleeps for only two or three hours a day. According to him, what brings him joy is not the glamour of office but the appreciation of ordinary people who recognize his efforts to serve them.
The governor's recent appearance at the Supernatural Love Ministries' International Kingdom Conference was as a guest minister, where he delivered a sermon on 'Celebrating the Kingdom of God through Service to Humanity.' The event, presided over by Archbishop Calvin Antonza, the Spiritual Head of the church group, took place in Yola and concluded on Sunday.
Through his story, Governor Agbu Kefas aims to inspire others to live a life of selflessness and service. He believes that everyone comes from God and is on earth to add value, emphasizing the importance of living one's purpose and serving humanity.
