Swiss watchmaker PS Horology has introduced the Tsuba 1720, a timepiece that draws inspiration from a 1720 English pocket watch created by George Graham, a prominent figure in British horology. The new watch features a distinctive design that blends traditional and modern elements. Peter Speake, founder of PS Horology, collaborated with artistic director Farhana Safa to create this unique timepiece. The Tsuba 1720 is part of PS Horology's Tsuba collection, launched in 2025.

The Tsuba 1720 boasts a sculptural case with a cushion-shaped design and festooned angles, alternating between satin and polished finishes. The 38.3mm-diameter case is made of 316L stainless steel and features a sapphire crystal and a second crystal on the back, allowing the movement to be visible. The watch also has an integrated steel bracelet with articulated links and a deployant buckle. The Tsuba 1720 is water-resistant up to 30 meters.

The watch's dial is inspired by the 1720 pocket watch and features a 18-carat gold construction with laser engraving, ceramic lacquer, and manual polishing. The Roman numerals are hand-painted, recreating the depth and visual appeal of the original enamel work. The dial's design is notable for its unusual layout, with the hour scale on the outside and the minute scale on an inner ring. The watch's hands have been modified to accommodate this design.

The Tsuba 1720 is powered by the Vaucher Manufacture 5401 automatic movement, which measures 30mm in diameter and 2.6mm in thickness. This movement features a microrotor, which allows for a more compact design. The movement has 176 components and 29 jewels, and it operates at a frequency of 21,600 alternations per hour. The watch has a 48-hour power reserve.

The Tsuba 1720 is a limited edition of 28 pieces, and its price is set at 26,000 Swiss francs, excluding taxes and delivery. The watch will be available for delivery in February 2027, and it can be purchased directly from PS Horology's website. This limited production reflects the brand's focus on creating a unique interpretation of George Graham's heritage rather than a historical reproduction.

The Tsuba 1720's design and mechanics reflect PS Horology's approach to blending traditional horology with modern construction. The watch's caseback features a historical map engraving and the coordinates of George Graham's former workshop in London. The watch's creator, Peter Speake, aims to combine historical aesthetics with contemporary mechanical engineering.

The Tsuba 1720 is a significant addition to PS Horology's collection, showcasing the brand's ability to create unique and historically inspired timepieces. With its distinctive design and advanced mechanics, the Tsuba 1720 is sure to appeal to collectors and horology enthusiasts.
