The Eswatini Arts and Music Association (SWAMA) has announced the commencement of member registration as it embarks on a new chapter. SWAMA's Public Relations Officer, Ndumiso Mamba, stated that the association aims to ensure the wellbeing of its members in the industry. Member registration officially opened, and both returning and new members are encouraged to register.

The membership subscription has been set at E50 per individual artist. For groups, bands, collectives, and other artistic formations, each individual member is required to pay the E50 subscription and register individually. This move is expected to provide an inclusive platform for artists and stakeholders to participate in the development and representation of the creative industry.

Ndumiso Mamba clarified that registering with the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) is primarily for statistical purposes in regional centers. He emphasized that to receive assistance from the council, artists need to be members of their respective creative associations, which then affiliate with the Arts and Culture council.

Members can register online by completing the registration form and attaching their proof of payment. Alternatively, they can register in person at any ENCAC office nationwide. For further assistance, members may contact SWAMA on 7808 5408. The association welcomes membership from a broad range of creatives and administrators within Eswatini's arts and creative industries.

SWAMA recognizes the diverse nature of Eswatini's arts and music sector and seeks to provide an inclusive platform for artists and stakeholders. The commencement of this new membership registration process marks an important step in the revival and rebuilding of SWAMA, contributing towards building a stronger and more representative arts and music community.

The association encourages practitioners in various fields to register, even if their fields have individual associations. This move aims to promote unity and cooperation among artists and stakeholders in the creative industry. By registering, members can participate in the development and representation of the creative industry.

The revival of SWAMA and the opening of member registration demonstrate the association's commitment to supporting Eswatini's arts and music sector. The association's efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the industry, promoting growth and development.
