Mbabane Swallows' recently unveiled 2026/27 season kit has attracted attention beyond Eswatini's borders. Ghanaian football journalist Micky Jnr shared the kit on his Facebook page, exposing the local club to a wider African football audience. At the time of writing, his post had garnered nearly 1,000 reactions, over 40 comments, and seven shares. Micky Jnr is associated with CAF's media operations and has worked with Ghanaian Premier League side Legon Cities FC.

Micky Jnr's professional profile identifies him with Ghana, and his social media presence extends to X and YouTube, where he has built a substantial football following. His sharing of the Swallows kit unveiling highlights the role of social media in giving Eswatini football clubs visibility beyond their borders. The kit was unveiled on Wednesday, and Micky Jnr shared it approximately 23 hours later.

The Beautiful Birds' home and away kits for the 2026/27 season maintain the club's traditional red and white colours. The collection, designed around simplicity and modern aesthetics, was presented under the theme of tradition and resilience. Swallows also acknowledged the continued support of kit partner Eclipse, citing the company's commitment as important despite the club's challenges.

The new kit will be worn in competitive action for the first time when Swallows face city rivals Mbabane Highlanders AM in the PLE Charity Cup play-off on Sunday. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:15pm at Mavuso Sports Centre, with both sides expected to draw strong interest from their supporters.

Mbabane Swallows is not the only Eswatini team making headlines. Mbabane Highlanders AM president Shauwn 'MaMkhize' Mkhize recently returned from a business trip to China, while Eswatini has repatriated 11 third-country nationals since July 2025 under an arrangement with the United States Government.

In other news, two socialites and a banker have been arrested in connection with an alleged fraud involving more than E396,000. Additionally, 34 police officers have graduated with diplomas in Police Science as the police service seeks to strengthen its response to emerging challenges.

Eswatini's football scene is not the only area experiencing developments. The country is expecting an estimated 1,000 jobs from the International Convention Centre (ICC), and Highlands Inn, in partnership with ENCAC, has launched a E20,000 Zion Gospel Competition.
