Survé Philanthropies has partnered with the Amy Foundation to support children and young people in vulnerable communities across Cape Town. The collaboration combines resources to provide educational, skills development, and mentorship opportunities from childhood through to employment entry. This partnership connects two Cape Town-based organisations focused on long-term youth development.

The Amy Foundation was established by the parents of Amy Biehl, an American student who advocated for human rights and women's rights before her death in Gugulethu in 1993. Operating for over two decades, the non-profit provides structured environments to help youth make positive life choices and gain practical tools for the future.

The foundation's flagship initiatives include the After-School Programme, which operates across Cape Town centres, reaching up to 1,400 children each week with academic support, life skills, sports, arts and culture, and environmental education. Additionally, the Vocational Skills Training programme serves high school learners in Grades 10 to 12, while the Youth Skills Development Programme targets school-leavers and unemployed youth aged 18 to 35.

The new partnership will focus on strengthening these existing core programmes, helping expand access to mentorship and technical training for youth in under-resourced areas. Saarah Survé, Chair of Survé Philanthropies, stated that the partnership reflects a shared belief in providing young people with access to education, practical skills, mentorship, and supportive environments.

Michelle Bagley, Chief Operations Officer of the Amy Foundation, welcomed the support, emphasising its role in helping young people build sustainable futures. Through this partnership, the organisations aim to create greater opportunities for young people to access skills, support, and pathways to a better future.

Survé Philanthropies focuses its investments on education, healthcare, human rights, youth development, entrepreneurship, arts and culture, and environmental sustainability across South Africa. The partnership with the Amy Foundation aligns with Survé Philanthropies' goals of supporting youth development and education.

The collaboration between Survé Philanthropies and the Amy Foundation demonstrates a commitment to supporting the development of young people in Cape Town. By combining resources and expertise, the organisations aim to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in vulnerable communities.
