The Bank of Omdurman National in Sudan has introduced a new digital service allowing customers to update their data remotely using the national digital identity 'Soodabass' for verification. This development makes it the first bank in Sudan to integrate with the national digital identity system, providing customers with a more convenient and streamlined banking experience. Customers can now access this service from anywhere in Sudan or abroad.

The introduction of this service is part of the Sudanese government's efforts to digitize various sectors, including banking. The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications is working closely with the Central Bank of Sudan and the banking sector to gradually link national digital identities with bank systems. This integration aims to enable banks to use 'Soodabass' for digital verification of customer identities.

The new service offered by Bank of Omdurman National allows for the digital verification of customer identities through its electronic channels. This helps fulfill data update requirements and provides customers with a more flexible and convenient banking experience. Customers can now complete banking procedures more easily, without having to physically visit bank branches.

The Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications, Engineer Ahmed Ghandour, emphasized that the ministry prioritizes citizens in the digitalization process. The goal is to reduce time and distance, simplify procedures, and enable citizens to access services from anywhere. The ministry plans to continue expanding the integration with the banking sector, based on each bank's technical readiness.

Engineer Ahmed Ghandour further stated that the ministry will continue to work towards integrating the national digital identity with various sectors, both government and private. This integration aims to establish a robust digital infrastructure in Sudan and promote the use of digital identities in everyday services.

The General Manager of Bank of Omdurman National, Professor Abdulmonem Mohamed Al-Tayeb, expressed pride in being the first bank in Sudan to integrate with 'Soodabass'. He highlighted that this development is part of the bank's efforts to enhance customer experience and expand digital services. The integration enables customers to update their data digitally using 'Soodabass' for verification, in accordance with approved banking regulations.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications will continue working with other banks to complete the integration process. Each bank will announce the availability of this service and its usage procedures once it is technically ready. The activation of the first banking integration with 'Soodabass' marks a step towards expanding the use of national digital identities in government and private services, supporting digital integration and facilitating citizens' access to services.
