Sudan's Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Aceeser, has called on the Arab states to take a clear and firm stance against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. In a speech at the 56th meeting of the Arab Information Ministers' Council in Cairo, Al-Aceeser urged the Arab League to take responsible positions to stop supporting the militia. He emphasized that the blood being shed in Sudan is Arab blood and that the suffering of the Sudanese people is a shared Arab concern.

Al-Aceeser condemned any interference or financial, military, or logistical support that contributes to destabilizing the country and prolonging the war. He addressed Arab states directly that are involved in supporting the militia, appealing to their voice of reason to stop this support. The minister stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of states, the unity of their territories, and non-interference in their internal affairs, in accordance with the principles and charter of the Arab League.

The Sudanese minister also called for a more effective Arab role in conveying the truth about the situation in Sudan and highlighting the suffering of its people, away from misinformation, selectivity, and hate speech. He emphasized that the battle of awareness is no less important than political, security, and economic confrontations, especially with the escalation of rumors and organized campaigns through digital platforms.

Al-Aceeser proposed enhancing Arab media coordination, developing a unified strategy to confront terrorism, extremism, and misinformation, and expanding partnerships, training, and joint production. He also suggested utilizing technology and artificial intelligence, protecting Arab content, and promoting its global dissemination. These proposals aim to strengthen joint Arab action and develop cooperation among media institutions.

The minister recalled Sudan's historical role in supporting Arab solidarity, citing the country's hosting of the 1967 Tripartite Summit of the Arab Left. He called for drawing inspiration from this experience and transitioning Arab solidarity from rhetoric to practical support and influential positions. Sudan's role in the past can serve as a model for current efforts to strengthen Arab cooperation.

Al-Aceeser expressed Sudan's appreciation for Arab support and the positions of brotherly countries. He reaffirmed Sudan's commitment to Arab joint action and developing cooperation among media institutions. The minister emphasized that what is required goes beyond solidarity related to war conditions to building a sustainable Arab partnership that respects state sovereignty, preserves unity, and supports peoples in times of hardship.

The call by Sudan's Culture Minister comes at a critical time as the conflict in Sudan continues to escalate. The international community and Arab states are under pressure to take a clear stance on the issue. The outcome of the Arab Information Ministers' Council meeting and the response of Arab states to Sudan's appeal will be closely watched.
