The 15th edition of the Practical Nigerian Content Forum (PNC) is set to take place from 30 November to 3 December 2026 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The forum, organised by dmg Nigeria events in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), will bring together government, regulators, operators, and indigenous businesses to define strategic priorities for Nigerian Content implementation beyond 2027.
Nigeria has made significant progress in local content development, achieving 61% under the current Nigerian Content Strategic Roadmap (2017–2027). The country is working towards its 70% target, and stakeholders are now focusing on sustaining and deepening this progress over the next decade. With major projects like Shell’s $2 billion HI Field and the $5 billion Bonga North project underway, local operators are taking over divested assets, and other African nations are looking to replicate Nigeria’s success.
The PNC 2026 forum will focus on four critical priorities: Mobilising Capital, Project Opportunities, Advancing Nigerian Content, and Policy & Legislation. Discussions will centre on improved access to capital, stronger financial partnerships, and innovative financing solutions to support indigenous companies. Stakeholders will also examine how stronger collaboration and supplier development initiatives can unlock commercial opportunities across the energy value chain.
The forum will feature five formats designed to translate dialogue into accountability. These include Strategic Leadership Panels, Executive Debates, Town Hall sessions, Breakout Sessions, and a dedicated Local Content Impact Stage. Distinguished speakers and participants include Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Executive Secretary, NCDMB; Elohor Aiboni, EVP & Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria; and Matthieu Bouyer, Country Chairman & MD, TotalEnergies Nigeria.
According to Wemimo Oyelana, Portfolio & Country Director, dmg Nigeria events, the PNC 2026 theme, “Defining Strategic Priorities for the Next Decade of Nigerian Content Implementation,” is crucial in shaping the future of Nigerian Content development. Oyelana said fifteen years of Nigerian Content implementation have demonstrated what sustained policy, regulatory commitment, and industry collaboration can achieve.
The next phase of Nigerian Content development will require careful planning to address capacity gaps and set priorities. The forum will provide a platform for stakeholders to collectively shape priorities, from funding and project delivery to policy frameworks needed to sustain and deepen progress. Key issues to be addressed include how legislation and regulatory frameworks can adapt to emerging opportunities and investor expectations.
