St Augustine's College, also known as Augusco, has retained the National Investment Quiz title for the second year in a row. The grand finale, which featured four schools, was a closely contested event that saw Augusco emerge victorious. The competition, organized to deepen financial literacy among Senior High School students, has grown significantly since its inception. This year's event saw a high level of competition, with all participating schools showing a good understanding of investment basics.

The quiz began with Mfantsipim School taking an early lead in round one, scoring 12 points. Augusco, Prempeh College, and Corpus Christi Senior High School trailed behind with 10, 10, and 5 points respectively. However, by round two, Augusco had surged ahead with 19 points, narrowly beating Mfantsipim's 18 points. Prempeh College and Corpus Christi Senior High School scored 16 and 11 points respectively.

The competition remained finely balanced heading into the final round, with Corpus Christi and Prempeh College each scoring 13 out of 15 points in round three. Mfantsipim and Augusco matched each other with 14 out of 15 points. The fourth round proved decisive, with Augusco pulling clear with 40 points, followed closely by Mfantsipim with 36 points.

The riddle round provided some of the evening's tensest moments, with all four schools buzzing in on the first riddle and getting it wrong. Corpus Christi recovered to take the second riddle correctly, while Augusco answered the third riddle correctly. Augusco went on to take the fourth riddle as well, before Mfantsipim closed out the riddle round with the fifth and final correct answer.

In the end, it was Augusco's consistency across the quiz rounds that proved decisive, sealing their status as the first school to retain the National Investment Quiz title since the competition began. Mfantsipim School, Prempeh College, and Corpus Christi Senior High School all put up spirited performances, and organizers say the standard of competition this year reflects the growth of the quiz.

The 2026 National Investment Quiz was organized to deepen financial literacy among Senior High School students, and it has succeeded in making subjects like stocks, bonds, and investment basics accessible to teenagers. The competition has also provided a platform for students to confidently debate and defend their knowledge of investment basics.

The event has also provided a valuable learning experience for all participating schools, with each school leaving with financial lessons that will outlast the competition itself. The National Investment Quiz has become an important event in the calendar of Senior High Schools in Ghana, and its impact is expected to be felt for years to come.
