On October 3, 2026, Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare, Sokoto state's Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the Illela-Badagry Super Highway project. Adare stated that this massive infrastructural project would bring rapid development to rural communities and improve the socio-economic development of Sokoto State and Nigeria at large.

The commissioner made these remarks while assessing progress recorded since Nigeria's independence. He highlighted that the project, which is currently under construction, will improve access to farm produce, markets, schools, and enhance security. Additionally, Adare mentioned another road construction project from Sokoto to Gusau, which is also crucial for the state's development.

Adare emphasized the Federal Government's contributions to security in collaboration with states. The government has trained Forest Guards and provided support to security agencies. He also noted that the military, police, and civil defense are always willing to collaborate with the state to ensure the security of lives and properties.

The Sokoto state government, under Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has implemented various initiatives to improve socio-economic development. These include a Nine Points Smart Innovative Agenda, which focuses on education, renovation, construction, and rehabilitation of schools across the state. The government has also provided cash allocation to principals for minor repairs in secondary schools.

In addition to education, the government has made significant strides in religious affairs, agriculture, and security. The government has improved, rehabilitated, and constructed new mosques, providing monthly allowances to Imams and Muazzins. They have also purchased fertilizer, chemicals, and improved seeds, distributing them free of charge to farmers across the state.

The state government has also taken steps to enhance security, purchasing over 300 vehicles and providing monthly logistics support to security agencies. Adare urged stakeholders to be vigilant and pray for the state's continued progress. He also emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining security.

Adare attributed the successes recorded by the Sokoto State Government to the guidance of the APC leader in the state, Distinguished Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. He appealed to people in the state to continue to pray for and support the government, and to vote for the APC in the 2027 elections to consolidate the achievements.
