Smart has been strengthening its presence in the Egyptian electric vehicle market, having launched the #5 model locally in the first quarter of 2026, joining the #1 and #3 models. This move demonstrates the company's efforts to offer smart and advanced options that suit a larger segment of customers looking for an electric vehicle with a distinctive design and European spirit.
The company plans to launch more electric models in the coming period. Fathia Abdel Hafiz, General Manager of Smart in Egypt, announced plans to launch new models, including the Smart #2 hatchback and #6 sedan, which will support the diversity of options available to customers and the brand's competitiveness in the market.
The opening of the new showroom coincides with the continued offering of installment plans for Smart #1 and #2, which allow customers to pay a 50% down payment and installments over two years with 0% interest. The company also offers installment plans of up to seven years, with monthly installments starting from 21,814 pounds and no administrative fees.
Smart showcased the locally available #5 model, which comes in three categories and features a 100 kWh battery that supports a rear motor with a power of 358 horsepower and torque of 373 Nm to cut 590 km in a single charge. The higher Brabus category features two motors with a total power of 637 horsepower and torque of 710 Nm to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and has an estimated range of 540 km.
