SKOL Brewery Ltd has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its employees' families by awarding scholarships to 100 secondary school students for the 2026/2027 academic year. This initiative, launched in 2021, aims to reduce the financial pressure associated with education and ensure that beneficiaries have the necessary resources to pursue their studies successfully. The programme provides educational support to employees' children enrolled in secondary schools, technical and vocational education and training institutions, as well as universities.
The scholarship programme was established through the initiative and support of Maïté Relecom, mother of SKOL Brewery's owner and a member of the leadership of Unibra, the Belgian group that owns SKOL Brewery Ltd. Since its introduction, the programme has progressively expanded, providing educational support to employees' children. For the 2026/2027 academic year, the company has continued to support employees' families by awarding scholarships to 100 secondary school students.
The scholarships help parents cover school fees and other education-related expenses, including school uniforms, textbooks, and school-organized transport. To benefit from the programme, eligible employees are required to complete an application form and submit the necessary supporting documents. Applications are then reviewed to determine whether they meet the established eligibility criteria.
SKOL Brewery's scholarship programme began in the 2021/2022 academic year, benefiting 59 secondary school students and six university students. In the following academic year, 2022/2023, the company awarded 68 scholarships to employees' children attending secondary school. During the 2023/2024 academic year, 58 secondary school students received scholarships under the programme's third edition.
In 2024/2025, SKOL Brewery launched the fourth edition of the initiative, reporting that since its inception, more than 265 secondary school students and over 30 students enrolled in higher education institutions and universities had benefited from educational support. For the 2025/2026 academic year, the company awarded 94 scholarships, including 78 for secondary school students and 16 for university students.
With 100 secondary school students benefiting from scholarships in the 2026/2027 academic year, the number of beneficiaries at this education level has increased by 22 compared to the previous year. SKOL Brewery continues to demonstrate its commitment to employee welfare, education, and the long-term development of its employees' families through this initiative.
Through this programme, SKOL Brewery aims to support employees' children in accessing quality education and continuing their studies without financial difficulties. The company remains dedicated to expanding its scholarship programme, providing opportunities for more employees' children to pursue their educational goals.
