The city of Sfax recently hosted a regional meeting called "Easy Export Days – Export & Grow", which aimed to simplify the export process for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, and artisans. The event was organized in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sfax (CCI Sfax) and was the third stop in a series of events that have previously taken place in Tunis and Sousse.

The meeting was part of the "Digital Trade and E-Commerce in the MENA Region" project, which is funded by the European Union and German cooperation. The project brings together several partners, including the Ministry of Trade and Export Development, the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), the International Trade Centre (ITC), the Tunisian Post, the General Directorate of Customs, the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX), and the National Office of Handicrafts (ONAT).

During the meeting, two main axes were presented. The first axis focused on the "Easy Export" mechanism, which aims to facilitate the sending of postal packages. A demonstration was given, and testimonials from exporting companies were shared. This axis provided valuable insights into the steps that SMEs and startups can take to benefit from simplified export procedures.

The second axis was dedicated to e-commerce and reviewed national programs aimed at promoting Tunisian products internationally through digital tools. The debate also focused on export opportunities and how SMEs and startups can leverage digital solutions to access global markets.

Through its participation in the regional meeting, the CCI Sfax reaffirmed its commitment to supporting economic actors in the region. The chamber is working to raise awareness about the use of logistical and digital solutions, as well as devices that simplify export procedures.

The event provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing SMEs and startups in the export sector. It also highlighted the importance of digitalization and simplification of export procedures in increasing the competitiveness of Tunisian companies in the global market.

The "Easy Export Days – Export & Grow" meeting is an example of the efforts being made to support the growth of SMEs and startups in Tunisia. By providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to access international markets, the government and its partners aim to boost the country's exports and promote economic development.
