Senegal and Gambia have taken a significant step in strengthening their cooperation on quality assurance in higher education. According to a statement from the National Authority for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (ANAQ-Sup), the two countries have reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing exchanges and deepening identified areas of collaboration. This development follows a visit by a Gambian delegation from the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA) to ANAQ-Sup.

The visit, which focused on governance, scientific practices, and quality assurance in higher education, marks a new stage in the cooperation between Senegal and Gambia. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the quality of exchanges and the work conducted during the visit. The Gambian delegation was received by ANAQ-Sup, where they engaged in discussions on various aspects of quality assurance in higher education.

The Secretary-General of ANAQ-Sup, Pr Massamba Diouf, welcomed the richness of the exchanges and the relevance of the knowledge shared during the visit. He emphasized that the mission allowed for the discussion of several dimensions related to governance, scientific aspects, and quality assurance. Diouf also reaffirmed ANAQ-Sup's commitment to pursuing and concretizing the engagements from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two institutions.

Special attention was given to the Validation of Experience Acquired (VAE/RPL), an area where Senegal's developed expertise constitutes a source of learning and sharing for Gambia. Both institutions aim to continue their exchanges to promote the transfer of experiences and capacity building in this domain. The Gambian delegation appreciated the hospitality and the quality of scientific exchanges.

Dr. Momodou Lamin Tarro, representing NAQAA, expressed satisfaction with the reception and the quality of scientific exchanges. He highlighted the depth of relations between Senegal and Gambia and reaffirmed the willingness to consolidate further collaboration between the two institutions and their respective ministries. The Gambian delegation plans to integrate the lessons learned from the mission into their final report.
