Saviour Microfinance Limited (SML), a microfinance institution licensed by the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority, is seeking applications from experienced and results-oriented Recovery Agents. The successful candidates will be responsible for recovering long-outstanding loan accounts in the Central, Eastern, and Northern regions of Uganda. SML provides funding to Small and Medium Enterprise businesses and Christian Educational Institutions.
The Recovery Agents will be tasked with pursuing the recovery of long-overdue and non-performing loan accounts assigned by SML. They will also be required to trace and engage delinquent borrowers, guarantors, and other responsible parties, and conduct field visits to facilitate recovery of outstanding amounts. Additionally, they will follow up on accounts where formal demand notices have already been issued.
To qualify for the position, applicants should possess demonstrable experience in loan recovery, debt collection, or related work. They should also have strong negotiation, communication, and persuasion skills, as well as the ability to trace and locate difficult-to-reach borrowers and guarantors. A high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is also required.
The engagement will be performance-based, with recovery agents remunerated in accordance with an agreed recovery commission/incentive structure based on actual recoveries from assigned accounts.
