Renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has urged corporate entities to rethink their support for the entertainment industry, emphasizing the need for meaningful collaborations that benefit both parties. In a meeting with Mobile Money FinTech (MMF) Limited, Sarkodie stressed that partnerships should transcend mere concert sponsorships. He made this call on September 30, as part of a courtesy visit to MMF's offices, aimed at strengthening their relationship ahead of the Rapperholic concert in Kumasi.

Sarkodie highlighted the existing gap between corporate Ghana and the entertainment industry, noting that their coming together can yield significant benefits. He expressed his desire to see the relationship between Rapperholic and MMF evolve beyond the typical sponsorship arrangement. According to Sarkodie, both parties have specific objectives, with Rapperholic and his projects having goals, and MMF seeking to promote its products and services to the public.

The rapper explained that effective collaboration can create value for their respective audiences, allowing both parties to gain from the partnership. He emphasized that today's conversation with MMF is about exploring opportunities for mutual benefit, extending beyond the Rapperholic concert. Sarkodie believes that by working together, they can build a relationship where everyone feels they've gained something.

MMF's Chief Executive Officer, Shaibu Haruna, shared Sarkodie's sentiments, highlighting the importance of the entertainment industry as a platform for communicating MMF's services to a wider audience. As a technology business focused on financial inclusion, MMF sees the entertainment industry as a critical channel for reaching millions of Ghanaians. Haruna noted that MMF has developed various financial solutions aimed at integrating more people into Ghana's financial ecosystem.

Haruna emphasized that music, as a universal language, provides an effective means of communicating with the masses, particularly through influential artistes like Sarkodie. He believes that collaborating with individuals who have a large following will enable MMF to promote its services safely and expose them to the different services offered on its platform. This partnership is part of MMF's contribution to Ghana's entertainment industry.

The MMF CEO praised Ghanaian artistes for their role in promoting the country globally, noting that music is a key aspect of Ghanaian identity. He highlighted that when Ghanaians travel abroad, their music, apart from football, is a significant way in which they are recognized. Haruna expressed his appreciation for the role of artistes in promoting Ghana's image worldwide.

The courtesy visit and meeting between Sarkodie, his management, and MMF's team reflect a growing trend of collaboration between corporate entities and entertainment industry players in Ghana. As Sarkodie and MMF explore opportunities for a deeper partnership, their efforts may pave the way for more meaningful engagements between corporates and creatives in the country.
