Rwanda is preparing to take part in a four-day summit dubbed Military Operations Other than War in Uganda's capital, Kampala, from October 5-8. The African Union, East African Standby Force (EASF), East African Community (EAC), Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), North African Regional Capability (NARC), and Economic Community of West African States Commission (ECOWAS) have also confirmed their participation. Forces Commanders of AUSSOM (Somalia), MONUSCO (DRC), UNISFA (Abyei, South Sudan), and UNIMIS (Juba, South Sudan) will also be in attendance.
The summit will discuss a range of issues, including unmanned aerial systems, peace support operations, gender mainstreaming, climate change, disaster management, natural resources management, and military support to civil authorities.
