The Rwanda Energy Group (REG) has announced that it is on track to achieve its goal of providing electricity to 100% of the country's population by 2029. According to REG's Chief Executive Officer, Byilingiro Maximilien, the current electricity coverage stands at 88.3%, with plans to increase this number by 4% annually. This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the country's energy infrastructure and provide reliable electricity to all citizens.

REG recently celebrated its Customer Service Week, during which it reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-quality services to its customers. The event, held in the Kicukiro district, brought together customers and stakeholders to discuss ways to improve service delivery. REG's management team assured customers that they are working to reduce the time it takes to restore electricity in the event of a power outage, which is often not caused by REG.

Customers who attended the event praised REG's services, citing improvements in the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply. Nsengimana Ernest, a resident of Kicukiro, noted that while power outages still occur, REG's response time has improved significantly. He added that REG has made a significant impact on the community, bringing light to households that previously had no access to electricity.

Other customers, including Ngabo Dominique, a local entrepreneur, and Uwase Grace, a resident of Karembure, also expressed satisfaction with REG's services. They praised the company's efforts to provide reliable electricity, which has enabled them to run their businesses and households efficiently. Murekatete Patricia, the executive secretary of Kagarama sector, also commended REG's efforts, highlighting the importance of collaboration between REG and local authorities in addressing customer concerns.

REG's CEO, Byilingiro Maximilien, thanked customers and stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation. He emphasized that REG's goal is not only to provide electricity but also to improve the overall quality of life for Rwandans. Maximilien noted that REG is working to reduce the impact of power outages on customers, even when they are not caused by REG.

The Rwandan government, in partnership with REG, has set a target of achieving 100% electricity access for all citizens by 2029. To achieve this goal, REG is working to expand its infrastructure and improve its services. The company aims to reduce the time it takes to restore electricity in the event of a power outage and to provide reliable electricity to all citizens.

As REG continues to work towards its goal, customers are encouraged to report any issues or concerns they may have. The company has established various channels for customers to provide feedback and suggestions, which will help REG to improve its services. With a focus on customer satisfaction and reliable electricity supply, REG is confident that it will achieve its goal of providing electricity to 100% of the population by 2029.
