Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced plans to equip 41 of its aircraft with Starlink, a high-speed internet solution, making it the first African airline to offer ultra-fast and uninterrupted connectivity. The service will be available free of charge to all members of the Safar Flyer loyalty program. This move is part of RAM's efforts to revamp the passenger experience and provide a service that meets international standards.

The deployment of Starlink will begin in early 2027 and will be rolled out progressively across the fleet to ensure optimal operational continuity. Once installed, passengers will be able to access high-speed internet, allowing them to stream content, communicate, work in real-time, and stay connected throughout the flight. This development is expected to enhance the overall travel experience for RAM passengers.

According to Hamid Addou, President and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, the partnership with Starlink reflects the airline's ambition to offer passengers an experience that meets the highest international standards. He noted that by choosing the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, RAM is taking a decisive step in transforming its customer experience and reaffirming its commitment to connecting Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world with the highest level of excellence.

Lauren Dreyer, Vice President of Commercial Operations at Starlink, said that RAM's decision to introduce Starlink on its fleet marks an important milestone for aviation in Africa. She noted that RAM will be the first airline on the continent to offer this technology, allowing passengers to enjoy the same high-speed and low-latency experience that is already transforming travel on other continents.

The introduction of high-speed internet on board is a key component of RAM's customer experience strategy. The airline is responding to growing demand for continuous connectivity from a diverse range of customers, including business travelers, members of the diaspora, students, and tourists. With Starlink, RAM is confirming its role as a pioneer and driver of innovation in African aviation.

The partnership with Starlink is part of RAM's multi-year plan to upgrade its fleet, refurbish its cabins, and modernize the overall customer experience, both on the ground and on board. The airline aims to build a more modern, competitive, and excellent African aviation industry by providing next-generation connectivity at the heart of its offer.

By introducing high-speed internet on board, Royal Air Maroc is consolidating its position as a leader in innovation and customer service on the African continent.
