Ayden Miniopoo, a 17-year-old volleyball player from Mauritius, is gaining recognition for his impressive skills on the court. Ayden's volleyball career took off when he joined the national under-18 team and participated in the Indian Ocean Youth and Sports Commission (CJSOI) games in the Seychelles in August 2025. He and his partner, Charles Li Wan Po, represented Mauritius at the African Youth Games in Angola in December 2025. Although the results were not as expected, Ayden gained valuable experience. He continued to excel in beach volleyball, partnering with Kellan Lal and winning a bronze medal at the Championship of Nations U18 (CAVB - Zone 7) in Madagascar.
Ayden's hard work and dedication have paid off, as he received the trophy for the best passer at the Championship of Nations U18 in Madagascar. In the tournament, his team dominated, winning the final against Madagascar in three sets. Ayden's performance was outstanding, and he was thrilled to have made many friends during the tournament. He also appreciated the experience of playing in front of a large crowd.
Ayden's success has not gone unnoticed, as he has been selected for the national beach volleyball team for the Jeux des îles de l'océan Indien (JIOI) in the Comores in August 2027. He is eager to participate in the event but acknowledges that he needs to continue working hard to earn his spot.
