The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the House of Representatives in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Thankgod Christopher Ibeh, has unveiled his manifesto, promising to support the elderly, youth, and people living with disabilities if elected in the 2027 general election. Ibeh, a businessman and former governorship aspirant in Anambra State, made these promises at a town hall meeting with Amuwo Odofin residents in Festac. He stated that his love for humanity and desire to give back to society drive his aspirations.
Ibeh shared his life journey, from childhood to adulthood, highlighting his hard work and integrity in achieving success. He emphasized the importance of knowing the character and background of those who want to represent them in governance. Ibeh previously contested for the APGA ticket for the Anambra governorship in 2021 with Chukwuma Soludo and has also contested for the House of Representatives before serving as the chairman of APGA in Lagos for over six years.
Ibeh's plans include empowering the youth through the 'One youth, two skills' program, which aims to take unemployed youth off the streets and address insecurity in Amuwo Odofin. He also promised to care for the elderly through his foundation, which has been supporting them in his village since 2014. Ibeh urged residents to hold him accountable for his words and protect their votes in the election.
Ibeh's proposals also focus on youth unemployment, which he identified as a significant challenge in the constituency. He plans to partner with Federal Government ministries, departments, and agencies, private sector organizations, and development partners to create employment opportunities. Additionally, Ibeh aims to rehabilitate roads, improve drainage systems, and enhance healthcare services across the constituency.
In the healthcare sector, Ibeh plans to upgrade primary healthcare centers, provide modern medical equipment, support medical outreaches, and improve maternal and child healthcare services. He also intends to promote preventive healthcare through public health awareness campaigns. Furthermore, Ibeh aims to support agriculture by training and empowering farmers in various areas, including fisheries, livestock, and crop production.
Ibeh's plans also cover education, including renovating dilapidated schools, supporting the digitalization of school libraries, and providing ICT facilities. He intends to support teacher capacity development, scholarship, and bursary awards to students, as well as support people living with disabilities and the elderly. Ibeh also plans to support small and micro enterprises (SMEs) and vocational skills.
The director general of Ibeh's campaign, Ololade Johnson, expressed confidence that with Ibeh in the lower legislative chamber, Amuwo Odofin would experience significant positive change. Ibeh has assured residents that he will work tirelessly to represent them effectively and give back to the community that has shown him love.
