Immanuel Temple, an assembly of Royalhouse Chapel International at East Legon, has made a significant donation to the Motherly Love Orphanage at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region. The donation was part of activities marking the assembly's 10th anniversary. Members of the church spent time with the 67 children at the orphanage and prayed with them. This act of kindness also coincided with the 40th wedding anniversary of Royalhouse Chapel International's founder, Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah, and his wife, Apostle Rita Korankye Ankrah.
The items donated included essential food supplies such as bags of rice and sugar, cooking oil, crates of eggs, drinks, biscuits, and other necessities. The delegation was led by Immanuel Temple's Senior Pastor, Apostle Derek Amanor, and his wife, Rev Dela Amanor. As the General Secretary of Royalhouse Chapel International, Apostle Amanor emphasized that the visit aimed to provide practical support while giving members an opportunity to fellowship with the children. He expressed satisfaction with the experience, highlighting the joy of praying for and speaking into the lives of the children.
Apostle Amanor urged other organizations to support the orphanage, expressing hope that they would follow suit. The Chief Executive of Motherly Love Orphanage, Rev John Azumah, appreciated the donation but highlighted that feeding remained the home's biggest challenge. He mentioned that the orphanage also needed support with school fees, books, medication, and clothing for the children. Currently, seven of the children are at university, while 15 are in senior high school, and the others are in junior high and primary schools.
Rev Azumah further explained that the orphanage operates from rented premises and is seeking support to complete a permanent shelter. Materials needed for the construction include cement, iron rods, sand, and stone. He also shared the background of the orphanage, which was established to provide shelter and care for children with special needs. The orphanage's mission is to offer a supportive environment for these children.
Rev Azumah commended the church for the donation, acknowledging that the items would significantly contribute to the welfare of the children. He also recognized the efforts of Rev Mrs Rita Korankye Ankrah, the President General of the Royal Ladies Ministries, in empowering women in Ghana. The visit and donation by Immanuel Temple underscored the importance of community support for vulnerable groups.
