Heavy rainfall has been reported in several areas of Mauritania over the past 24 hours, according to data from the Administrative Communications Service of the Ministry of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development. The regions that received significant rainfall include the Eastern and Western basins, as well as other parts of the country. In the Eastern Basin, the provinces of Amarg and Adil Boukrou recorded notable rainfall. Other areas in the region, such as Fassala in Basaknu province and Abehire in Tembédghé province, also experienced rainfall, with 4mm and 35mm recorded, respectively.
The Western Basin also witnessed considerable rainfall, particularly in the provinces of Lâyoune and Tiris Zemmour. The town of Chelkha in Lâyoune province received 31mm of rain, while Am Lakhyayel and Abeechich in the same province recorded 20mm each. Additionally, areas in Tiris Zemmour, such as Lebeib and Aqrar, received 15mm and 13mm of rainfall, respectively.
The provinces of Tamsagh and Lassa also experienced significant rainfall. In Tamsagh, Akmoun Lebeïd recorded 60mm of rain, while Kébé Nouamer and Askie both received 56mm. Furthermore, areas in Lassa, such as Akkanitir Beniamer and Lemqemzé, recorded 45mm and 40mm of rainfall, respectively.
In the L'Ârbaab region, several provinces received notable rainfall. The province of Krou recorded 40mm of rain in Antakata, while Zamzam and Kamour both received 36mm. Additionally, areas in the provinces of Kiffa and Barkéol also experienced rainfall, with significant amounts recorded in Safnagay and Hasse Iaya.
The regions of Korok and Tiris Zemmour also witnessed rainfall. In Korok, Amboub province recorded 30mm of rain, while in Tiris Zemmour, the province of Tichka received 35mm. Other areas in the country, such as the provinces of Kédi Magh and Inchiri, also experienced scattered rainfall.
