Pastor Emmanuel Sunday Famuyide, Regional Superintendent of the Ogun Region of the Christ Apostolic Church, made the statement at a Marriage Seminar organised by the Christ Apostolic Church Men’s Association in Ibadan. The seminar, themed "Domestic Violence: Causes, Effects and Solutions," aimed to strengthen marriages and promote healthy family relationships. Famuyide emphasised that couples must work together to build a loving home.

Famuyide noted that many families, including those of ordained clerics, live in subdued bitterness, with couples harbouring cold relationships and living together as "strange bedfellows." He attributed this malaise to incompatibility on various levels, including spiritual, educational, and disparities in habits and visions. The cleric stressed that addressing these issues is crucial to building a healthy family.

In addition to incompatibility, Famuyide cited poverty, barrenness, lack of communication, and lack of respect as factors contributing to cold families in Christendom. He advised couples to educate their children and wards on the importance of building a good home, emphasising that knowledge of Christ, discipline, and hard work are essential lessons to pass down.

Describing marriage as "a union of two forgivers," Famuyide urged couples to avoid addiction to mobile phones and social media. He warned that "prayers don’t build good homes; you have to work to make your home good." The cleric's remarks underscored the need for couples to be intentional about nurturing their families.

The seminar, attended by representatives from 10 districts of the Oke Ibukun DCC, aimed to make marriage an enjoyable experience rather than a burden. Pastor Paul Olatunji Sodeke, CAC Oke Ibukun District Superintendent, commended the Men's Association for organising the seminar, which he said would strengthen marriages and improve family relationships.

Famuyide's advice to couples resonated with the attendees, who acknowledged the importance of working together to build a loving home. The seminar provided a platform for couples to reflect on their relationships and seek guidance on addressing challenges. By promoting healthy family relationships, the Christ Apostolic Church aims to foster a more supportive community.

The initiative is part of the church's effort to promote healthy marriages and family relationships. By addressing the root causes of domestic violence and providing guidance to couples, the church hopes to create a more harmonious and supportive community. The seminar's impact is expected to be felt beyond the church, contributing to a broader societal shift towards healthier family relationships.
