The Ghana Police Service in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region has received a significant boost to its operations with the donation of two brand-new 4×4 pick-up vehicles. The vehicles were donated by Nana Kwadwo Boateng, Domgya Komfo of Bosore, and are expected to enhance efforts by the Kenyase Police Command to combat robbery and other criminal activities in the Municipality.
Nana Kwadwo Boateng stated that the donation formed part of his continued support for the Ghana Police Service, having undertaken several interventions to assist the Service over the years. Some of his notable interventions include the construction of the Police Depot Bank at the Kumasi Central Police Station and the construction of the Mamponteng Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit office.
In addition to the vehicles, Nana Boateng has also made other significant contributions to the Ghana Police Service, including the construction of the Moro Market Police fence wall and the donation of pick-up vehicles during the commissioning of the Kenyase Police Station. He also provided computers and printers to support the station's operations, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to supporting the Service.
Nana Boateng used the occasion to advise the youth to desist from substance abuse and the use of illicit drugs, warning that excessive alcohol consumption and the use of hard drugs could have serious effects on their health, physical development, education, and social well-being. He emphasized the importance of making responsible lifestyle choices to ensure a bright future.
Commissioner of Police Osei Akoto Arthur, representing the Ashanti Regional Police Command, received the keys to the vehicles and commended Nana Boateng for his continued support for the Ghana Police Service. He assured the donor that the vehicles would be properly maintained and used for their intended purpose, expressing optimism that they would significantly improve security in the Kwabre East Municipality.
The donation was also commended by Nana Baffour Akwasi Amoateng III, who represented the Chief of Kenyase. He appealed to other organizations, banks, and individuals to emulate Nana Boateng's gesture by supporting the Ghana Police Service to enhance its operations and improve security in their communities, highlighting the positive impact that such contributions can have.
The two new pick-up vehicles are expected to contribute significantly to improving security and enhancing the delivery of justice within the Kwabre East Municipality. The Ghana Police Service will be able to strengthen patrol operations and respond more effectively to crime, thanks to Nana Boateng's generosity and commitment to supporting the Service.
