Preliminary police investigations revealed that the victim left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19, 2026, driving his Honda Civic vehicle, but failed to return. It is alleged that the victim was lured to the residence of suspect Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams. The police have confirmed that both suspects subsequently confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The police investigation further revealed that Philip Tefe attacked the victim with a metallic object during a confrontation, resulting in severe injuries. The victim was left unattended in another room and later died. On September 20, 2026, the suspects allegedly transported the body in a Kia Morning vehicle to a location near the motorway, dumped it in a brush, and set it ablaze.
A partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21, 2026. The victim's biological mother and uncle formally identified the remains at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24, 2026. The police have confirmed that the victim's iPhone 12 was recovered, which suspect Philip Tefe allegedly sold for GH¢100.00 to a buyer, Sunday Omeje.
Sunday Omeje has been cautioned and detained for dishonestly receiving the device. Further intelligence led to the apprehension of Josiah Obodai for his alleged role in disposing of the body. The Kia Morning vehicle belonging to Obodai's father, believed to have been used to transport the body, has been impounded by law enforcement.
