The Central East Regional Police Command has made a breakthrough in the murder case of a 34-year-old mobile money (MoMo) vendor, Christian Amponsah. On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, police arrested three suspects in connection with the crime. The suspects are Felicia Osei Appiah, 59, Clement Opoku Yeboah, 24, and a female juvenile. They were apprehended following the discovery of Amponsah's lifeless body at a guesthouse near Kasoa Second in the Central Region.

According to the police, the incident came to light after the manager of the guesthouse reported the discovery to the authorities. Amponsah had checked into the guesthouse with the female juvenile and booked a room for two hours. However, when they failed to emerge from the room after the booked period had elapsed, the manager went to check on them. Upon entering the room, he found Amponsah lying motionless in a pool of blood.

Police officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found the deceased lying face down, with his body covered with bedsheets, curtains, and pillows. The body was conveyed to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for preservation, identification, and autopsy. The police have not disclosed the nature of the injuries sustained by Amponsah or the circumstances leading to his death.

The police statement, signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the Central East Regional Police Command, DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, assured the public that the Command is conducting thorough investigations into the incident.
