Plan International Zambia, an independent development and humanitarian organization, is seeking qualified and experienced local organisations to partner in implementing sponsorship programme activities across selected districts in Central, Eastern, and Luapula provinces. With a presence in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia focuses on advancing children's rights and equality for girls. The organisation's sponsorship programme adopts a gender-transformative approach, focusing on education, health, livelihoods, protection, and sexual and reproductive health.

The partnership aims to strengthen the delivery of sponsorship programme activities through local leadership and expertise. Selected partners will implement community-based interventions, manage programme portfolios with annual budgets ranging from EUR 800,000 to EUR 1 million, and integrate cross-cutting priorities such as Gender Equality and Inclusion, Youth-Led Change, and Climate Resilience. Partners will also support advocacy initiatives, community engagement, and stakeholder collaboration at community and district levels.

To be eligible, interested organisations must be legally registered local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) or NGOs operating in Zambia, with a strong presence or demonstrable programming experience in the Central, Eastern, or Luapula Programme Areas. They must demonstrate proven technical and operational capacity, a track record of successfully implementing programmes in specific areas, and established governance and management systems.

Interested organisations are required to submit a Letter of Expression of Interest, an organisational profile, evidence of relevant experience, copies of valid legal registration certificates, and contact details of a designated focal point person. The submission deadline is 14th October 2026 at 23:59 CAT, and Expressions of Interest should be submitted electronically to [email protected].

The selection process will assess Expressions of Interest against criteria such as relevance of organisational experience and expertise, technical and operational capacity, and alignment with Plan International Zambia's values and programme strategic priorities. Shortlisted organisations will participate in a more detailed due diligence and capacity assessment process, including submission of supporting documentation.

Plan International Zambia's sponsorship programme activities are currently implemented across selected districts in Luapula, Eastern, and Central provinces. The programme focuses on enhancing the well-being of children, adolescents, and young people, particularly girls and young women. By partnering with local organisations, Plan International Zambia aims to advance its localisation agenda and enhance project quality, sustainability, and impact.

The partnership opportunity is open to local organisations that demonstrate commitment to transparency and accountability, inclusion, gender equality, child safeguarding, and ethical programming practices. Selected partners will play a crucial role in contributing to sustainable development outcomes through strengthened community ownership and local capacity building.
