Peter Kazadi, a member of the UDPS, stated that Joseph Kabila, the former President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is set to lead a new rebel movement that has emerged from a split within the M23. Kazadi made these claims during a live broadcast on Space Live, organized by Stanis Bujakera Tshiamala. He asserted that he has had knowledge of this development for some time, based on intelligence he has received.

According to Kazadi, the new movement will be led by Joseph Kabila, with Seth Kikuni by his side. He also mentioned that recruitment for the movement has already begun. Kazadi attributed the split to internal issues within the M23 and a loss of confidence in the leadership of Corneille Nangaa. He suggested that Kabila's close associates are pushing him to take control of the movement.

Kazadi expressed concerns that Joseph Kabila is being manipulated by his entourage, describing him as being "taken hostage." He drew parallels with the events following the 2019 elections, where Kabila's supporters believed he could return to power. Kazadi emphasized that the key to peace in the region lies in the withdrawal of Rwandan troops, stating that if Paul Kagame's forces leave Congolese territory, peace will be restored.

Kazadi also criticized Joseph Kabila for not condemning the actions of the Rwandan government or the M23 rebels, describing them as "his children." He alleged that Kabila had traveled to Rwanda to seek support from Paul Kagame, although he refused to disclose further details. Kazadi questioned Kabila's commitment to the country, suggesting that he had accumulated wealth during his 18-year rule before turning his back on the nation.

In response to Seth Kikuni's advice to leave the country, Kazadi recalled his experience leading the opposition under both Laurent-Désiré Kabila and Joseph Kabila, emphasizing that he has always remained in the country. He contrasted himself with Kikuni, whom he described as fleeing the country at the slightest provocation. Kazadi reiterated his commitment to fighting for the country, stating that the government will not disarm while facing aggression.

Kazadi outlined a dual approach to addressing the conflict, involving both military action and dialogue. He referenced the president's announcement of a dialogue with those willing to address governance issues through peaceful means. While not ruling out a solution through talks in Doha, Kazadi emphasized that the government will not lower its guard.

Finally, when asked about President Félix Tshisekedi's commitment to respecting the constitutional term limits in 2028, Kazadi sidestepped the question. He focused on the immediate threat posed by Joseph Kabila, stressing that the nation must prioritize addressing this issue. Kazadi concluded by emphasizing the people's sovereignty, stating that they have the power to shape their future.
