The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, Hajia 'Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, recently hosted a grand retirement reception in honor of retired Deputy Superintendent of Traffic, DST Anifat Abiodun Bello. The event, held in Obantoko, Abeokuta, was attended by various dignitaries, including the wife of the Ogun governorship candidate, Yeye Adenike Adebutu, and Ogun PDP Chairman, Dr. Abayomi Tella. Sowunmi-Kolapo commended Bello for her professionalism, discipline, and dedication to traffic management during her years of service with the Ogun State Police Command.

During the reception, Sowunmi-Kolapo presented a cheque of N500,000 to Bello, describing her commitment to duty as "infectious" and worthy of emulation. She urged other security agents and workers to follow Bello's example, assuring that the government of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the PDP governorship candidate, would prioritize workers' welfare once in office. Sowunmi-Kolapo promised that "hard work will pay" and that civil servants in Ogun State would enjoy better welfare packages under the Adebutu administration.

Yeye Adenike Adebutu, the wife of the governorship candidate, also praised Bello for her diligent service, announcing an additional N500,000 cash support for her. She stated that Bello would be part of the Adebutu administration once he is voted into power in 2027. Adenike Adebutu commended Sowunmi-Kolapo for organizing the reception, saying that Bello's selfless service was an inspiration to many.

Ogun PDP Chairman, Dr. Abayomi Tella, described Bello's selflessness and passion for others as commendable and worthy of emulation. Alhaji Semiu Sodipo, Ogun PDP Secretary, highlighted Bello's unique attributes, including her ever-smiling posture and diligence. He noted that she never indulged in bribe-taking, an attribute that he said other public servants should emulate. Sodipo praised Bello for being "fantastic" and rare in her commitment to duty.

Members of Bello's family, including her younger brother, Nunasu Jacob, and daughter, Dorcas Olusegun, expressed gratitude to Sowunmi-Kolapo and others who honored her. They praised Bello's life of passionate service and her generosity. Bello herself danced in appreciation, thanking Sowunmi-Kolapo, Adenike Adebutu, and others for the honor and support.

In her remarks, Bello advocated for diligence among all categories of workers, saying that everyone should do their job well.
