The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority has announced temporary traffic diversions and road closures in preparation for the BOYE NATION/JAF Movement Concert scheduled for Monday. The measures aim to manage the expected large turnout and ensure safety for motorists, pedestrians, and other road users. According to Major Adekoya Adesagba, the authority's chairman, the event will attract a significant number of attendees, prompting the need for careful planning.
The concert, set to take place on Monday, is an initiative to mobilize and unify Oyo youths through music and entertainment. It also serves as the official platform for Boye Nation's political declaration for the Allied Peoples Movement. With a large crowd anticipated, the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority is taking steps to minimize congestion and ensure public safety. The authority has designated specific parking areas and routes for attendees.
To facilitate smooth traffic flow, VIPs with valid event stickers or entry passes will park at Gate 2, while other guests and attendees will use the Recreation Field opposite Gate 3, Sabo, as the designated parking area. PTS buses will be stationed at the recreation field to transport attendees to the concert venue. Gates 1 and 3 will be open strictly to pedestrians, with vehicles not permitted to pass through these gates.
The authority has also announced the temporary closure of certain roads leading to the stadium. The Danax en route Sabo Recreation Junction and Queen Cinema en route Eko Tedo will be closed to vehicular traffic between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Motorists and members of the public without business at the venue are advised to use alternative routes during this period.
In addition to road closures, the authority advises attendees to use designated parking facilities rather than attempting to drive directly to the venue. This, according to Adesagba, will help prevent congestion and ensure a smooth experience for all attendees. The authority will deploy personnel to monitor traffic movement and respond to any challenges that may arise.
The temporary traffic restrictions are necessary due to the expected influx of people to the concert. The measures are intended to minimize congestion and ensure the safety of all road users. Adesagba appealed to motorists, commercial transport operators, and residents within the affected areas to plan their journeys ahead and strictly obey traffic signs and directives from OYRTMA personnel.
The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority has assured the public of its readiness to manage traffic effectively during the event. With adequate personnel deployed to strategic locations, the authority is poised to respond promptly to any challenges that may arise before, during, and after the program. The public is urged to cooperate with OYRTMA and other security agencies to ensure a safe and orderly movement of people and vehicles throughout the event.
