Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed gratitude to God for the achievements recorded by his administration in its first four years. He attributed the administration's achievements to God's benevolence and the support of President Bola Tinubu. Oyebanji will be inaugurated for a second term on Friday, October 16, having been re-elected in the June 20 governorship election in the state.

The governor made these remarks during a special praise session tagged "Eight Hours of Praise", organised as part of activities marking the end of his first term and his inauguration for a second term. Oyebanji said he would never tire of offering praise and worship to God for His awesomeness and presence in the affairs of the state. He described the journey of his administration over the past four years as evidence of divine grace.

Oyebanji expressed confidence that the next four years would bring greater progress to the state. He said, "With God's grace and support of the people, my second term will be far more impactful than the first". The governor had told his wife that the only thing he wanted for his inauguration was eight hours of quality praise and worship to God, with four hours for the last four years and another four hours for the next four years.

The Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, applauded Oyebanji for his leadership and commitment to the people. He expressed confidence that Oyebanji's administration would record greater achievements in the second term. Bamidele said Oyebanji's decision to organise a praise programme to show gratitude to God on behalf of himself and the state is a reflection of his heart of gratitude to God.

Bamidele urged the governor to remain confident and focused during his second term, expressing optimism that Oyebanji would not only consolidate the achievements of his first term but also surpass expectations. The Managing Director of Premium Trust Bank, Dr Emmanuel Emefienim, predicted a more prosperous future for Ekiti State, saying the state would record greater achievements and testimonies during Oyebanji's second term.

Emefienim described the programme as spiritually significant, saying the gathering represented more than an expression of gratitude but a declaration of faith with lasting implications for Ekiti State and future generations. He said the gathering would serve as a lasting memorial for the state, adding that its impact would be felt by present and future generations of Ekiti people.

Emefienim said Oyebanji had sent grace ahead of the second term, and that the next four years would be better than the first four by the grace of God. The programme was attended by a large congregation of worshippers, government officials, political leaders, and other Ekiti people.
