The Algerian Ministry of Vocational Training and Education announced that more than 400,000 new trainees and professionals will join vocational training and education institutions across the country on Sunday, October 2, 2026. This intake is part of the October 2026 training cycle, which features 23 new specialties in vital sectors such as renewable energy and cybersecurity. These institutions will provide various training formats based on available seats nationwide.
The new training cycle will adopt the National Reference Framework for Competency-Based Training and digital registration and monitoring. This change aims to modernize the preparation and updating of training offers by transitioning from a national catalog of specialties to a reference based on required competencies in the job market. This approach seeks to strengthen convergence with various sectors and entities involved in employment and investment.
The Ministry has introduced 23 new specialties in the October 2026 cycle, covering areas such as renewable energy, cybersecurity, environment, quality, Industry 4.0, web development, and artificial intelligence. These specialties address economic transformations and institutional needs. Additionally, the cycle includes expanding English language instruction in some technical specialties in response to demand from economic institutions.
The new training cycle focuses on employment after training as a core aspect of preparing training offers, based on short- and medium-term job market needs. The sector has launched two digital platforms within the Dzair Digital Services national government digital services portal. The "TRAINING" platform allows trainees to register and view available specialties nationwide, while the "TMEHIN" platform enhances connections between training institutions and the economic sector.
The "TMEHIN" platform enables institutions to express their needs in terms of specialties and required trainee numbers. This connection involves economic institutions in the training process from its early stages, including practical training, alternating training, and internships within institutions. The duration and content of some specialties can be adapted according to the partner's needs.
A new institute specializing in cinematography will be established in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Arts, providing specialized training in professions and skills related to the cinematic industry. The sector currently has 17 excellence centers, and 25 manufacturing laboratories have been established nationwide, considering the local economic and industrial fabric and needs.
The Ministry confirmed that necessary material and human resources have been provided for the training institutions, including transportation, meals, and accommodation. The new trainees will be distributed across over 1,100 training institutions nationwide, ensuring that technical training is provided in qualified institutions.
