The Ethiopian Electric Utility has announced that over 30,000 households in various sites of the Koye Feche Condominium have been installed with single-phase smart electricity meters. This development allows residents to pay for their electricity consumption on a monthly basis, eliminating previous payment challenges. According to Anwar Abbar, Executive Director of Communications at the Ethiopian Electric Utility, the new system will enable customers to pay for their electricity usage in a more efficient manner.

The installation of smart electricity meters was carried out in various sites, including projects 11 and 18, where electric infrastructure works have been completed, as well as projects 17, 12, 16, Nefas Silik, Akaki 1, Akaki 2, and other sites. The installation of meters was necessary to provide residents with a reliable and efficient electricity supply. The electric infrastructure development work included the construction of 17.3 kilometers of low-voltage lines, 8.4 kilometers of underground medium-voltage lines, and 4.1 kilometers of overhead low-voltage lines.

In addition to the installation of smart electricity meters, the project involved the installation of 11 transformers with a capacity of 630 KVA, 21 transformers with a capacity of 800 KVA, and 21 transformers with a capacity of 1250 KVA. These transformers will provide a reliable and efficient electricity supply to the residents of the condominium. The project aims to provide electricity to all residents of the condominium, improving their quality of life and enabling them to carry out their daily activities without interruption.

The installation of compact transformers and underground receiving cables is also underway to provide full electricity services to residents of projects 12, 16, 17, Nefas Silik, Akaki 1, Akaki 2, and other sites. Once completed, the project will ensure that all residents of the condominium have access to reliable and efficient electricity services. The Ethiopian Electric Utility is committed to providing high-quality services to its customers and improving the overall efficiency of the electricity supply system.
