Ahead of the January 2027 election in the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, Accord Party candidate Pelumi Olajengbesi has unveiled a 335-man campaign council. Olajengbesi, who previously served as spokesperson for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke's 2026 governorship campaign, announced the formation of the campaign council in a statement on his Facebook page. The council brings together various stakeholders, including political leaders, professionals, community leaders, women, youths, students, and grassroots mobilisers from across the constituency.
Governor Adeleke has been named a patron of the campaign council, alongside Kazeem Akinleye and Dele Faseru. The council will be chaired by Osun State Commissioner for Environment, Mayowa Adejorin, with the Commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment, Bayo Ogungbangbe, serving as deputy chairman. Adesoji Baderin has been appointed Director-General, while Ladesuyi Tope and Sola Adeyekun will serve as deputy directors-general for Obokun and Oriade respectively.
The campaign council comprises 20 committees covering areas such as political strategy, grassroots mobilisation, ward coordination, youth and women affairs, media and publicity, digital communication, research and policy, legal compliance, election monitoring, finance, logistics, security, professional engagement, students, religious groups, party affairs, and diaspora outreach. Committee heads include Ayodeji Areola for Elders and Stakeholder Engagement, Adekusibe Okeowo for Strategy and Political Planning, and Yemisi Itiola for Mobilisation and Field Operations.
Other committee chairmen include Jimoh Odunayo for Research, Policy and Manifesto, Ayodele Justice for Legal and Compliance, and Komolafe Fopefolu for Election Planning and Monitoring. Femi Awe will head Support Groups, Tola Faseru will chair Finance and Fundraising, and Olorunfemi Olatunji will oversee Logistics and Operations. Seun Fapounda will chair Security and Intelligence, while Olumide Agboola will lead Professional and Business Engagement.
The newly constituted council is expected to coordinate Olajengbesi's campaign activities, political engagement, and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 federal constituency election. Olajengbesi, a lawyer and Accord Party candidate, is seeking the Oriade/Obokun seat currently held by Wole Oke, who has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives for over two decades.
The Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency election is scheduled to take place in January 2027. Olajengbesi's campaign council has been tasked with ensuring a successful campaign and eventual victory in the election. The council's diverse composition is expected to facilitate effective mobilisation and engagement across the constituency.
Key appointments to the campaign council include Omotoso Eniola as secretary, Ademola Asaju as assistant secretary, and Sodiq Lawal Chocomilo as spokesperson. The council's formation is seen as a strategic move to galvanise support for Olajengbesi's candidacy and secure the Oriade/Obokun seat for the Accord Party.
