US defense manufacturer Oshkosh Defense has secured a second order from Morocco to supply the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces with heavy military transport vehicles. The new Direct Commercial Sales order, placed through Optimum Vehicle Logistics, includes 50 Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1 tractors and 50 MN573 heavy-duty trailers. This order also covers spare parts, services, and training. The HET A1 system is designed to transport heavy military equipment, including main battle tanks and armored vehicles.
The MN573 trailers were designed and manufactured in partnership with Dutch company Broshuis B.V. Oshkosh Defense did not disclose the financial value of the order or a delivery schedule. The company announced the order on Monday, stating that it will support Morocco's efforts to modernize its military mobility capabilities. This will enable Moroccan forces to reposition heavy equipment, support armored formations, and move strategic assets between operational areas.
The latest purchase follows Morocco's first publicly announced Oshkosh HET A1 order in September 2024. At the time, Oshkosh said it had received a direct commercial sales order through Optimum Vehicle Logistics for HET A1 tractors and 635NL trailers for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. The 2024 order was linked to Morocco's modernization of its M1 Abrams tank fleet.
According to Oshkosh Defense, the first tranche of HET A1 tractors from Morocco's earlier order has already been delivered and is now operational with Moroccan forces. The company said that working alongside Optimum Vehicle Logistics, its exclusive distributor in Morocco, it is advancing Morocco's modernization objectives through the delivery of heavy tactical wheeled vehicles.
Pat Williams, Oshkosh Defense's chief programs officer, stated that the company is committed to supporting Morocco's military modernization efforts. The additional order will enhance Morocco's military mobility capabilities, allowing its forces to transport heavy equipment efficiently.
Oshkosh Defense is a subsidiary of Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Corporation and produces military vehicles and mobility systems for the US and international defense markets. The company's Morocco business is handled through Optimum Vehicle Logistics, its exclusive distributor in the Kingdom of Morocco.
