Oriflame, a Swedish holistic beauty and wellbeing brand, has set its sights on India to become its largest global market by 2030. The company expects India to contribute one in every four euros of its global revenue by 2030, up from one in every ten euros currently. This ambitious plan marks a significant expansion of India's role in Oriflame's global business.
To achieve this goal, Oriflame plans to add 10 lakh new Beauty Entrepreneurs by 2030, expanding its direct-selling network across the country. The company will build on its current presence in 517 towns and cities, with a focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations. This expansion will enable Oriflame to take its products and entrepreneurship opportunities to more consumers and communities across India.
India has been a key market for Oriflame for over 30 years, and the company sees significant growth potential. Rising consumer demand beyond major metros, increasing participation of women in the workforce, and growing adoption of digital tools are driving this growth. Oriflame's Beauty Entrepreneur community, comprising over 80% women, is at the heart of its model, providing opportunities for women to build an additional source of income.
Kenneth Benaim Campbell, CEO and President of Oriflame, emphasized India's importance to the company's global ambition. He highlighted the country's large and evolving consumer base, entrepreneurial energy, and strong appetite for beauty and wellbeing. Oriflame aims to build on its foundation in India and unlock the full potential of the market.
Oriflame is strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in India through partnerships like Akums, and exploring opportunities to serve select international markets from the country. The company will continue to invest in its beauty and wellbeing portfolio, as well as digital tools and training for Beauty Entrepreneurs. This will enable them to build their businesses and serve consumers in a seamless and relevant manner.
Orkun Gul, Chief Commercial Officer of Oriflame, noted that India is a market where beauty is deeply personal, and trust and recommendation play a crucial role in consumer discovery. The company will focus on combining personal relationships with digital experiences, relevant products, and stronger commercial capabilities to drive growth.
As Oriflame looks towards 2030, India is expected to play a substantially larger role in its global business. The company will build on its 30-year foundation in India to expand its consumer and Beauty Entrepreneur communities, deepen its geographic reach, and explore opportunities for India to contribute to Oriflame's global growth.
