The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in Anyigba, Kogi State, has approved the results of the 2025/2026 second-semester examinations. During its 168th Regular Meeting on September 30, 2026, the Senate considered the examination results presented by various faculties and departments. A total of 44 students graduated with First-Class Honours. The university's Senate also approved the withdrawal of 56 students due to poor academic performance, failure to register for two consecutive semesters, and other academic deficiencies.

The 44 students who graduated with First-Class Honours are from various departments, including Agriculture Economics and Extension, Forestry, Food, Nutrition and Home Sciences, Computer Science, and Physiology. Others are from Economics, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Animal and Environmental Biology, Plant Sciences and Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Accounting, Arabic and Islamic Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Banking and Finance.

The Senate also considered the report of the Results Verification Committee on students' academic standing. The committee's report led to the withdrawal of 11 students for poor academic performance and 38 others for failing to register for two consecutive semesters. Additionally, seven students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science were withdrawn due to failed modules and course deficiencies.

One student, Jude Ojoajogwu Itodo, with matriculation number 26PL1068, from the Department of Plant Sciences and Biotechnology, was expelled for gross examination misconduct. The decision was made following the consideration of the Examination Misconduct Committee's findings and recommendations. The university's disciplinary actions were taken in line with its extant Academic Regulations.

Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, commended the Results Verification Committee and Examination Misconduct Committee for their diligence and commitment to maintaining the university's academic standards. He congratulated the 44 First-Class graduands, describing their achievement as a product of hard work, discipline, and dedication to academic excellence.

Prof. Usman urged the graduands to remain worthy ambassadors of the institution and uphold the values of integrity, hard work, and excellence. He encouraged other students to draw inspiration from the achievement of the First-Class graduands, stressing that academic excellence is attainable through focus, discipline, and consistent effort. The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the university management's and Senate's commitment to sustaining academic excellence and quality assurance.

All withdrawn and expelled students have been directed to surrender university property, including identity cards and other official items, to the Security Unit before leaving the institution. The university provides a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research, and students are expected to comply with its academic regulations to achieve academic success.
