The public outcry intensified as the videos showed the teenagers chanting inappropriate slogans, blocking traffic, and aggressively tearing their official school uniforms. In response to the public safety disruption, state security agents moved swiftly to arrest the key ringleaders.
Rather than resorting to heavy-handed punitive actions that could derail the long-term academic and professional futures of the young students, the government prioritized mental evaluation and constructive counseling. The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Igbekele Ajibefun, highlighted that the program was carefully crafted to correct negative societal behaviors. To celebrate their personal transformations, the commissioner officially confirmed to the affected youths and their anxious families that the government has dropped all administrative sanctions.
The Director of Guidance and Counseling, Continuous Assessment and Evaluation within the state ministry, Olufunke Ademuyiwa, outlined the structural framework of the month-long curriculum.
