Former National Vice-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, South-West, Mr Bankole Adefemi Oluwajana, has expressed his admiration for President Bola Tinubu's vision and performance since taking office. According to Oluwajana, President Tinubu is a brilliant leader who knows what he is doing and where he is taking Nigeria. He emphasized that the President's administration has introduced restructuring, growth, and economic stability, in addition to governance.

Oluwajana highlighted the positive impact of the government's policies, such as naira deregulation and removal of subsidy, on the economy. He noted that these policies have led to a reversal of the trend where Nigerians would travel abroad with empty boxes and return with goods, which was detrimental to the economy. Instead, Nigerians now travel abroad with goods to sell, earn income, and return with empty boxes, contributing to the country's economic growth.

The former APC vice-chairman pointed to the increase in Nigeria's reserves from $28 billion under President Jonathan to $54 billion now, an increase of almost 100 per cent within a few years, as evidence of the country's economic progress. He emphasized that this growth is globally acknowledged and that it would be disastrous to reverse the course.

Oluwajana attributed the APC's loss in Osun State to the party's internal dynamics, citing the lack of charisma and weak human relations of the immediate former governor. He expressed confidence that other strong politicians in the APC, such as Bashiru, Omisore, Fadahunsi, and Omoworare, would have performed better.

Evaluating the current state of opposition parties ahead of the forthcoming elections, Oluwajana noted that there is no serious opposition or that the opposition parties are not serious. He cited the example of the ADC, which has no governorship candidate in several states, including Abia, Cross River, and Kano, comprising 159 LGAs, about 20 per cent of Nigeria.

Oluwajana categorized opposition candidates into three groups: dreamers misled by marabouts and prophets, serial critics, and those who are genuinely interested in governance. He expressed confidence that the APC would perform well in the forthcoming elections, given the weakness of the opposition parties.

Finally, Oluwajana reiterated his support for President Tinubu's commitment to restructuring Nigeria and his vision for a better future for the country. He emphasized that the President's policies and actions demonstrate his dedication to the country's growth and development.
