The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has promoted four high chiefs in the Balogun Chieftaincy Line. The promotions took place at the Banquet Hall, Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan. He was promoted from Ekarun Balogun to Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland.
The other promoted high chiefs are Oba Dauda Abiodun Azees, who was promoted from Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland to Osi Balogun of Ibadanland. Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin was promoted to Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland, while High Chief Samuel Adegboyega Adeniran was promoted to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland. The Olubadan congratulated the newly promoted chiefs and sought their continued cooperation to move Ibadanland forward.
In his message to the newly promoted chiefs, the Olubadan urged them to prioritize issues concerning the progress of Ibadanland. A delegation of Baales from Yoruba land paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan and members of the Olubadan Advisory Council at the Olubadan Palace. The Baales were received by Oba Ladoja, who appreciated their visit and commended them for the existing peace and unity among them. The monarch reiterated that Ibadan is the home of all Yorubas.
The Olubadan granted the request of Baales in the South West of Nigeria to have a place in Ibadan to serve as their headquarters. The convener of the South West Baales' visit, Baale Amuwo Odofin, appreciated the warm reception and presented Oba Ladoja with a certificate of award for promoting peaceful coexistence and Yoruba traditional and cultural values.
