Akpubak's roles have included Team Lead and Supervisor of the Crude Oil Treating Plant, Supervisor of Crude and Condensate Exports Movement, and Technical Training Coordinator. These positions have contributed significantly to his professional growth and expertise.
Akpubak's career has also seen him serve as Acting Crude Oil and Gas Exports Terminal Superintendent at the Qua Iboe Terminal in Eket. Additionally, he has held the positions of Offshore Installation Manager and Manager, Offshore Installation, at the Etim Crude Oil and Gas Production Offshore Facility in Eket. His leadership and technical skills have been invaluable to the companies he has worked for. Akpubak's educational background includes an HND in Mechanical Engineering from The Polytechnic, Calabar, in 1991.
He later earned a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Uyo in 2008. These academic achievements laid the foundation for his successful career in engineering. As a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Akpubak is recognised for his professional competence. He is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
