The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State has arrested a 35-year-old man, Rayyanu Ibrahim, for allegedly vandalizing an armoured cable at the Birnin Kudu Township Water Station. The suspect was arrested on the same day at about 1100hrs with the stolen cable.

Adam, mobilized operatives and commenced an investigation immediately after receiving the report. The suspect, Rayyanu Ibrahim, of Kurima, Birnin Kudu, was found with an armoured cable suspected to have been removed from the affected facility.
During preliminary investigation, the suspect reportedly confessed to his involvement in the vandalism and disclosed his involvement in other cable theft cases. He stated that the stolen cables were being sold to scrap dealers. The NSCDC has recovered the stolen cable as an exhibit and has expanded its investigation to identify and apprehend other persons connected to the alleged criminal activities.
The Jigawa State Commandant, CC Muhammad Ingawa, has reiterated the corps' determination to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure.
