Uganda's renowned athlete, Joshua Cheptegei, has emphasized the need for increased and sustained investment in athletics to enable Ugandan athletes to prepare and compete effectively on the international stage. This call was made during a reception hosted by Uganda's Ambassador to Denmark and the Nordic and Baltic States, Margaret M. Otteskov, in honor of his bronze medal in the men's half marathon at the World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 2026.
